The Power to Stay Quit.

Quitting is not easy! Be proud of your hard work, and let it motivate you to stay quit.

Tips to Stay Quit

Quitters always win! You’ve worked so hard to quit, but, remember, quitting is a life-long challenge. Stay strong—don’t let slips trip you up. You can quit again. Use quitting tobacco as a first step to start healthy habits. Remember the reasons you decided to quit.

  1. Know your triggers and avoid them.
  2. Remember cravings only last a short time.
  3. Stay busy—be active and exercise.
  4. Eat healthy and drink plenty of water.
  5. Reward yourself for reaching tobacco-free milestones.
  6. Get help and support from family and friends.
  7. When you slip, don’t be hard on yourself.
  8. Never stop quitting for good.

Quit on Monday

If you get off track, don’t let it get you down. Instead, think about what caused you to slip, and give yourself a fresh start on Monday. Studies show that people who wait for special occasions like birthdays or New Year’s to quit, likely relapse within a month, and truth is, it often takes several starts to quit tobacco for good.

Rather than wait for an annual event or a BIG day to quit, you can take advantage of 52 Mondays every year. Monday means you can start your week off on a good note, track your progress and if you slip up, Monday will always be a day to reset.
